Description
After surviving the attack on their convey and being debriefed, Dakota and Jasper head straight to the local watering hole, aptly named 'The Underground' for some strong drinks to wash away the dust in their mouths.
Jasper: "If that sandstorm had lasted a few more minutes we all would have made it !"
Dakota: "Who knew we would blast out the back of that sandstorm and straight into those Elite's."
Jasper: "Like they knew exactly where we were, but how? Never felt more set up than I did today." Jasper snarled angrily as he poured another drink and slammed the bottle back onto the table.
Dakota: "Tells me we need to be more careful. We lost half the shipment and to many lives today. We need to take this fight to them. It's the only way
forward," as she finished off her burger, pushed her plate to the side and took a big swig from her glass.
Jasper: "Won't work Dee, these Elites are like a Hydra. Take one down and the head immediately grows back. Those Elites are so envious of each other
they will kill themselves off just for the chance to become the top dog. We just need to keep what we are doing, low profile and
snatch all the resources we need for the future of the underground hubs and those wretched souls living in the slums."
Dakota: "Well the sooner they kill themselves off the better in my book. They get right up my nose." she quipped.
Jasper (chuckles) " Well your getting up my nose now....you bring a unique aroma to the table."
Dakota, her eyes narrow, "Are you suggesting I smell bad?"
Jasper: "No suggestion." then empties the glass of liquid into his mouth.
Dakota downs her drink and slaps the glass onto the table in disgust, "Really! That's your issue after what we went through today! Enjoy your booze since it seems you wish to be alone. I going to find some people who will appreciate my company old man and you don;t smell that great either!"
As Jasper tried to apologize, Dakota got up from the table and stormed through the crowded scene, disappearing into the haze of the 'The Underground'.
.........to be continued
Hi all and welcome the the next part of the story, thanks for taking a peek and apologies if the narrative is a bit weak, only 2 hours sleep last night as a result of upcoming events tomorrow and to distract my mind I created this narrative and the character introductions for Dakota and Jasper during the night so a bit rough and certain it will get better as the story develops and can always add some explainer renders in the future to set up the whole world for you.
Be kind, get your sleep and peace.

This looks great, mood and lighting is telling the story.

Amazing bar scene to go with the story :-) And it looks like they have robots!
Steff_7
You always need robots....lol and thanks Max :)

They will certainly reconcile... after a lot of adventures
Steff_7
The heat of battle tends to make one perspire so yes, a hot shower and they will be working together again :)
Thank you :)
Krid
..great sci-fi scene and excellent details and atmosphere
Steff_7
Thank you very much and as I have seen in your art, the details are very important to sell the story ;)
Thanks Krid :)

Really strong scene 😮 that blue, almost neon-tinged low light gives it such a punch. The location works so well, and having both characters positioned out on the sides forces the viewer to take in the whole moment. I have to admit though, Jasper’s little remark about her “smell”… ouch. Not exactly the kind of comment you make in a situation that tense. That one hit sideways. They’re already stuck in a rough spot, and with such different views on how to move forward, it’s no surprise things blow up. Fantastic bit of night work, by the way. Sometimes writing isn’t just writing but simply the best distraction. Hope the timing on your end worked out 💤 I’m completely lost with Australian time right now.
Wishing you a peaceful time ahead. 🌿

They fought through the desert to get home so a little smell is normal, Jasper was trying to lighten the mood but Ladies do not always find Mens humor funny, has happened to me a few times now...lol
Thank you :)

Very beautiful! Great scene . A job well done my dear friend 👍🙋♂️

Thank you so much :)

What is surprising (and perhaps frightening) is that in all countries at war, people continue to live almost normally.
But let's get to the movies.
Steff_7
Regardless of what is happening around us, until it effects us then life is normal and thats the moment we stop being spectators.
Thank you and very true observation :)

The blue overlay works really well. - Bob
Steff_7
I played with the light settings and the light sources a few times in Daz but always came back to the blues in this scene and appreciate you dropping by Bob :)

Fabulous work!

No need to apologize, the narrative is perfect...perhaps you should stay up late more often as the narrative story results are fantastic. Now that we know a bit more about Dakota and Jasper, maybe someone here will volunteer to go share a drink at the bar with Jasper and give him a bit of advice about how to make things right with Dakota. lol
The lighting, atmosphere and mood in this bar looks very much to my liking Steff. This would make a great first frame start to an animation next year for you...hint...hint Mr. Steff Director! I am working on an animation that is 3 minutes and 30 seconds long and I was able to utilize only 4 image frames to do it. (had 5 images but ended up not needing it}
The way you construct your scenes opens up a lot of possibilities for animation. Just on this scene alone...I would do a camera view of Jasper looking at Dakota from his point of view and then I would do another opposite camera view of Dakota looking at Jasper telling him he needs to learn how to treat her better and not insult her about her hygiene. lol
I would then do a third camera shot of the robot server moving about in the bar as she carries the drinks and direct the robot to make a delivery to Dakota's table and have the camera follow the robot as she serves the drinks. For my fourth camera i would use the view you have here in this render. I would then prompt the characters emotions and how they move from this shot. If you wanted her to slam a drink on the table in disgust at Jasper, then you just prompt for that. If you want her to get up in a hurry because she feels insulted then you control how she should react the moment she gets up in disgust.
For my 5th camera placement it would be a view of the bar as an establishing shot with a view of the bar tender if there is one and all the patrons inside going about their business.
These 5 additional camera shots would come from an Ai editor like goggle Nano Banana or Seedream 4.0 edit to attain the 5 camera POV images which will be derived from this original render above. Ok my friend I did not mean to get too deep into it and I may have gotten a bit exited about the possibilities of this awesome and most certainly favorite image! :-)

Taking notes, listening and learning, well listening at the moment...lol and you reckon I am the director :)
All great advise and agree with you 100% for an animated version of this, a version that may very well become animated and narrated in 2026, have to wait and see but looking promising and I see those angles as I create these renders as I imagine them as a still from a storyboard yet to be fully realized :)
Keep educating my friend is all I can say and Thanks Johnny, you make this a great learning curve and minimize the fear of getting into the world of AI animation :)
max-
Wow, Johnny seems to have some great tips for your new movie, Steff :-) Makes it seem easy! .... so when's your film premiere coming to our screens? .... no pressure, Steff ;-)
Steff_7
Yeah right...no pressure as I sit here shaking, trying to pour a fresh bourbon and steady my hand to light the 15th cigarette of this last 12 minutes......no pressure.....Nurse......NURSE!!!!!! Valium now !!!!
lmao....float or sink I really wanna give this kind of animation a go so lets see what 2026 brings :)
Thanks Max, bought a smile to my dial :)
Tracesl
Excellent

Thank you so much :)

He he..... Nothing like a nice, hot shower after a battle.. 😁 Maybe next time...
Awesome supporting art to go along with your story, my friend! Excellent writing as well. Keep 'em coming!
Steff_7
More coming and we all get a little stinky after a battle :)
Thanks Rod :)

Excellent work!

Thank you so much :)

It certainly looks like it's going to be a very interesting story, and I'm really excited to see how it develops, even though it's sci-fi 😉 The picture is perfect and forms a coherent whole with the accompanying text. I don't think I'd even be able to string together two coherent sentences after just two hours—amazing performance! 👍
Steff_7
Thank you and rather than focus on what was going wrong in life I did character development....lol
Sometimes all we need is a little distraction to see a better path forward. I know your not into scifi but will be trying to bring a little fantasy into some scenes for you and those who like fantasy as much as I do :)
VirtualCity
My question is.... where did artists like Crystalis and Samjan go? And why did they go? Such inspiration
Steff_7
Great questions both and maybe someday the answer will present itself. So many artists we never see anymore and thank you for taking a peek :)
