It is her lover's heart, beating to the rhythm of a second hand that never moves forward. Eira’s melancholy lies in her terrible choice: for the winter to end and for life to bloom again, she must drop the golden clock and allow it to shatter against the ice. But doing so would mean accepting the final death of the only thing she has ever loved.
