Imagine if the history of humanity had unfolded in such a way that it wasn't we who enslaved dark-skinned people from Africa, forcing them to perform forced labor, denying them any rights, and treating them as mere objects—but rather that Black African slave traders had gone hunting for people in Europe to send them, for example, to diamond mines, where they would have had to toil as rightless individuals for the rest of their lives. An unpleasant thought? How "unpleasant" must it then have been for African people to have been completely at the mercy of their white masters on the cotton fields of America?
