Description
Hundreds of these dishes were intact in the sand in straight rows. The cabinet where they originally rested, survived the sinking of the Titanic and laid to rest in the sand. Once the wood rotted away, the dishes were left in the rows in the sand.
When used on the Titanic, being made out of fireproof clay, meals could be prepared under great heat and served in the same dish.
