Losing face
In German, this term "Sein Gesicht verlieren" isn't meant literally, of course; the face is firmly attached to the head, so it can't happen! 😎
What's meant, of course, is something else: when someone loses face, it means they've lost the respect of their peers, e.g., through an embarrassing incident in public, through something they said or did, or sometimes didn't do, even though they should have.
For a change, I've taken this term literally and illustrated it with images, including the gradual panic the person themselves feels when they realize WHAT they've actually caused.

Your latest creations, like all the ones before, is very beautiful and appealing! Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on all of them because I am at the physical therapist twice a week to learn how to walk without crutches again! I hope you are well and wish you many great ideas for your beautiful creations!
