People spend a large part of their lives in their beds, so you could say that the bed is a central place in a person's life and plays a very important role. It is primarily intended to serve as a place of refuge for our essential sleep phases. Furthermore, it also serves as a place of refuge when we get sick and need to separate ourselves due to the risk of infection, or when a cough or other symptoms of illness necessitate retreat. Oh yes, I almost forgot: the bed also seems to primarily serve as a "playground" for interpersonal interactions...so, as you can see, a multifunctional place that we neither can nor want to do without. I once created a set of bedrooms, or more precisely, of bedrooms and beds, that goes a bit beyond the run-of-the-mill bedroom world, pure luxury—but dreaming doesn't cost anything...😉😄
