Description
This creature had its web from my porch railing to the next door mango tree. It was so creepy looking I had to take a photo. Looked it up on the web by asking about "a spider that looked like a Ritz Cracker". As best I can tell it is a Araneus Diadematus and is not poisonous. Sure don't want to find out about that. :-)

That is a funky looking spider....does seem to be a large orb weaver spider as I found other pictures similar to yours that labelled as such but they didn't specify which kind of orb weaver. So you're right it is an Araneus Diadematus :) How big is it exactly?
About 1 1/2 " across (circular). Just about the same as a Ritz Cracker. Weird, ugly, scary. It was gone in about two days....wish I knew where it went!

I've begun to notice a whole lot of new looking spiders in South Texas. That almost looks like one I encountered that was collecting insects in my pecan trees.
