Description
Ten Years the Siege lastet, and no Decision. The surrounding Villages ransacked, the Landscape empty of lifestock, Prey and Peaseants. Plagues, Hunger and Lice spread like the Lack of Moral and Evilness.
The Fights, first following Rules and for honor sank to pure Massacres. Before the Skaeic Door Hector was falling before Achilleus, so the City had no future King.
What cannot be taken by force, can be Taken by Fraud! To avoid Mutiny the greek Leaders followed a stratagem by Odysseus: They sailed away pretending Defeat, leaving a wooden Horse as a Gift. At Night, hidden Men climbed from the Horse and openend the Doors for the returned Army silently.
And Troy burned and fell into Darkness! What can we learn ...

Great images again!!! A tragic event that should teach humanity against wars. Hope! Your work is excellent!
Thank You, this makes it worth the Work (ca. 400 Attempts)!
The Troy-Series ends here officially, but I am waiting for an Inspiration, how this could have ended more satisfying! But we can not always call on the Gods to help us ... ;) Have a good Day! :)
Love the 5th one. The expressions on their faces is so realistic. All of them are great.
Makes me very happy You mentioned that!! Yes, that was the Aim to show the Relieve, the Exhaustion and the Fear the War was not ended ... and it was not! Glad You noticed that, thank You very much!!! :)
Powerful imagery !
Thank You very much, Master Water! Great Machines You have invented these Days, from Submarin to Steam-Car! Funny and fascinating! :)
Epic set of pictures. There are no pacts between lions and men!
Thabk You! Yes, this is the bare Truth of Achilleus, but we must not accept that for our Times! (And at last he gave the Body of Hector back to Priamos, so he was not without Mercy!)
Excellent
Thank You, MU!
All the images quite impactful, especially the one with the iconic horse
Thank You for the Patience to view all. Its always not the most satifying to see the bitter End! (But I am just thinking of an alternate Version, but one cannot always depend on the Gods and the Muses! ;)
Thank You very much, Chrysaor, because your series on Troy has enriched my youthful memories of reading the Iliad and the Odyssey with wonderful and passionate images!
Very glad to hear that it gave You something to nurture Your Heart. Did not now Your interested in these old Legends, hope there is more to come and have more Motivation knowing that! (But my Muse is overseas managing her personal Affairs, so I lay here bound in darknes, waiting ... ;)
When you hear from your Muse, tell her that the end of the Trojan War left me very disappointed and I hated poor Odysseus so much that I appreciated the alternative ending described by the Italian poet Dante in Canto 26 of the Inferno of his Divine Comedy.
Well I see I can learn a lot from You! Though I´ve read that in my Youth, too, I cannot remember that that Canto. Very valuable Hint and great Style! :)
My Muse has jus returned from the Realm of the "Mad King" this Weekend and I will tell her that rightaway! :)
In Dante's version, Odysseus, instead of returning to Ithaca, wants to continue exploring the world, but trying to pass the Pillars of Hercules to reach the ocean, he is overwhelmed by a storm and dragged to the bottom of the sea. (Many years ago I heard an Italian poet recite this Canto, and even though I didn't understand a word, I was deeply moved.). I'm happy for the Muse. Remember, always stay together!!
