Very impressive!
Thanks a lot!!
Wow! We don't have walls like that in my town. Just some old crumbling buildings.
My town is very ancient, these walls were built in 1200 :)
Very imposing walls!
Thanks a lot!
I have learnt recently, tha Sicily, rich of Ore and Wisedom how to make Weapons, was very rich from 2000 B.C. on, but also an Aim to Robbery and northern War-bands, so they have to build these Walls, first "Nurages", then these better Walls. And always higher!
What we see here is there must have been four Times of Destructions and Rebuilding at minimum. What terrible Times!
Well, actually it's Sardinia and nuraghes were very ancient buildings B.C, but nobody knows their purpose for sure. Instead, these walls you see here are about 1200 A.D., built during the Pisan domination (we had many dominations) by the governor count Ugolino Della Gherardesca. In the middle age all Italian cities and towns were surrounded by walls to protect them from enemies.
