Description
This was very close to Yosemite. The two of us never saw a single other human the entire day and night, as if we were on some uncolonized planet. But there was plenty of non-human life -- strange furry animals popped out of nowhere and stared at me, like they never seen a person. One looked like a cross between an alien bear and an alien mouse.
I was hoping to see a cool mountain lion or a grizzly bear, but soon realized that may not be a smart thing to wish for.

Kind of marmot you crossed there. At least animals didn't seem annoyed by humans - not sure it's still the same by now.
They weren't scared of me either. I think I could have touched them if I wanted.

Beautiful photos of the scenery, and those little fuzzies! They probably don't see enough humans to be scared; just curious. Cute little dudes!
