"Calico Jack Rackham," actually John Rackham (December 21, 1682 in Bristol, England; November 17, 1720 in Santiago de la Vega, Jamaica), was a British pirate captain of the 18th century. He became famous primarily because his crew included the two most famous Caribbean female pirates: Anne Bonny, with whom he had at least one child, and Mary Read. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't only men who sailed under the "Jolly Roger." There were also women who were just as determined as the men.
