A few days ago, an ancient incident came to mind again. I was about 6 or 7 years old and visiting the Frankfurt Zoo with my parents. At one point, we passed the monkey enclosure, where a keeper was walking by with a small chimpanzee by the hand. Following an impulse, I tore myself away from my mother's hand and tried to take the chimpanzee by its other, free hand...this was prevented in time by my mother, hurried from behind, screaming in panic, grabbing me and pulling me away before I could reach the monkey. Her heart probably almost stopped at that moment! :) Children often have a carefree way of approaching animals, without considering possible dangers - so this set shouldn't encourage imitation...it's just an idealized set of images, nothing more. They are wild animals, whose reactions are often difficult to assess, so... :)
