Description
"In the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared; though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered, and being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him." (Hebrews 5:7-9)
"Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I Am God, and there is none other." (Isaiah 45:22)
No mere mortal could dare contemplate---much less attempt---what the greatest Man Who has ever lived accomplished 1,988 years ago (at the time of this posting): The redemption of Humankind and the Earth. However, on the eve of our Exodus, Y'shua ben Netsarret (Jesus of Nazareth) did contemplate the horror in the heart of humanity due to our separation from God (which Y'shua was also about to willingly experience for the first time), and He then reconsidered His Ancient Agreement, His Cosmic Covenant, His Eternal Injunction to free His people---and all people who would accept Him---from their putrid existences, for real Life is found in Him alone. His reconsideration hardly hints at the magnitude of His endeavour, but we all ought reconsider the magnanimity of His effort.
Before I met this Jesus, I considered His followers ignorant and obnoxious. After meeting Him and living with Him, I discovered to my surprise that many who claim Him have never met Him: They blindly continue on hope alone. I do not envy them, for had He Himself not spoken to me that morning and continued speaking and loving me and proving His Love these nineteen years, I could not continue. Make no mistake: It is the Lord Jesus Himself---His Love---enveloping, permeating, and emanating out of His beloved's souls which binds His people to Him, and not even torture and threats of death can cause those who know His Love to speak against Him. The fear of the Lord is the fear of being away from Him, and this is the fear---previously unknown to Him---which assailed our Messiah that night in the olive grove called in English, "Gethsemane."
Jesus came into my life so forcefully---removing me from everything that I had loved and telling me beforehand that He was going to do it---that I no longer had the luxury of agnosticism, for I KNEW He Is Real, indeed, Reality Itself, but I also henceforth had to carry out the counterintuitive and sometimes inexplicable instructions He gives. As He told me, "This trust, called 'faith,' is not believing something that cannot be known, but KNOWING something that cannot be believed." And this is why God Himself must prove Jesus' Lordship to each soul. For after this, a soul may say, "no," but she can never again say, "not."
The preposterous premise of the Gospel is the most sublime truth available to humanity, but the dark lies of earthly existence hold sway despite the squalor in our faces or at our doorsteps. At this very moment in time, a foretaste of the fear and suppression to come is being foisted upon us by the god who rules this world (as the New Testament calls the evil angel and his sphere of psychic phenomena shared by this planet's inhabitants). Thus, I implore you to investigate this issue of Messiah (Christ) and consider deeply. For the most important answer you shall ever give is to Jesus' question: "And you, who do you say Me to be?" (Matthew 16:15)
You CAN KNOW Jesus for yourself. This is far too important to take anyone else's word for it. This is why God has reserved this ability for Himself. If you desire to be loved: He Is the greatest Lover. If you are lonely: He Is the greatest Friend. If you are fearful: He Is the perfect Protector. If you are hungry: He Is the Bread of Life. If you are lost: He Is the Great Shepherd. If you need money: He has forgiven all debts. If you have squandered your life: He Is the Great Restorer.
For those who demand proof, He has laid the gauntlet: "If any one wills to do God's Will, then he shall know concerning My teaching: Whether it is of God or I speak from My self." (John 7:17) And to the anti-theist: Would you demand or would you request that someone answer questions you desired to know? Therefore, do you truly desire to know?
Most materialists that have never experienced or witnessed the supernatural (which included me before I met the Lord Jesus) respond to these assertions with mockery or skepticism. But to those who are drawn to curiosity and wonder, I say, "Taste and see that the Lord is good." (Psalm 34:8)
