Description
Abadan lies off the coast right below where the Tigris and Euphrates join and where Iran meets Iraq at the Persian Gulf. It was 127 km (79 miles) south of Abadan at Kuwait City that the U.S. forces sought to protect the Kuwaiti elites from the forces of Saddam Hussein, who was literally the king of Babylon (the ruins of Babil are a few miles outside Baghdad, Saddam's capital). Saddam fancied himself "a new Nebuchadnezzar."
"And they had as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon [Abadan], but in Greek he has the name Apollyon." (Revelation 9:11) 'Apollon' is what the Greeks call Apollo, the god of light, the light bearer.
Think it not strange that the occupation of Abadan and Babil were allegedly precipitated by events that occurred on 9:11, the memorial of which is a giant hole in the ground with water pouring in, that is, an abyss.
