Description
Hi :)
The village had been plagued by mysterious disappearances of livestock and gold, even a villager or two have vanished without a trace. The King ordered his troops to score the land, every mountain top and every cave to find the source of this mystery.
Posted a lighter and slightly different version in case the first was to dark for some of you...see I am learning after my last dark post...lol
Both straight renders out of Daz, no post work on the first and only post work on the second was to add a little bloom to the top left corner.
Thanks for dropping by, appreciated, peace :)

Hmmm ... could it be a bad dragon? I guess we might find out soon.
Awesome, chilling scene! The dark one looks even better and creepier, although it could use just a bit more brightness by pulling-up the intensity curve at the bright end, but not too much -- or perhaps a slight increase in contrast might work too.
1st is my fave as it really sets the scene but after the last dark one I did I thought I better come up with a way so everyone can at least see one of them clearly :)
Thank you :)
Both versions look good, though the darker one does evoke the ominous tension of searching a dark cave for the truth.
They may not be able to handle the truth...lol
Thank you :)
A place where a whole army can disappear
More than once has that happened here :)
Thank you :)
Wonderfully done once again !!! 👍🙋♂️
Thank you :)
Both images look outstanding, although the dark one certainly gives you the feeling that you need to be careful where you step upon. I have a feeling that soon they will find the culprit who has taken the gold, for he may have sought refuge somewhere in this cave. As far as the livestock, that may be a mystery best solved another day. lol :-)
I'm gunna blame a fast food outlet for the missing livestock and not what lays in wait at the other end of the cave :)
Thank you :)
Outstanding images! They convey a tremendous sense of mystery and foreboding!
Thank you :)
i like the chiaroscuro of the dark one, but the lighter one works better on my (not particualrly good) monitors and i do like the Vallejo-like palette it has. Both have wonderful visual narrative.
Thank you very much and such kind words :)
Awesome
Thank you :)
Very eerie, nice work on both :) The darker one I love the effect of it but it is easier to see with the lighter one - but the lighter one it is almost like the light itself if giving them some guidance where to tred
It shows them the way out and hopefully they get to see that light again :)
Thank you :)
Woww this is excellent art. Fantastic.
Thank you and glad you liked :)
They both look terrific, the darker one feels more Closter phobic and oppressing. Not a place where you want to be separated too far from a friendly. Never know what could happen and if it takes 30 seconds or more to get help then your most likely cooked. Outstanding!
Thank you and just the feel I was going for :)
The dark and the light piece both look good in their own way. I feel the darker image works better visually. It looks less contrived with it's isolated areas of light and the surrounding semi-darkness. The details become vague and undefined as would be natural to our eyes in such dim light conditions. Very good work.
Thank you so much...I prefer and did the darker version first but then thought maybe to dark for other peoples screen, thus the 2nd version. I need to go with my gut and stay with the first idea and save myself some time....lol
Thanks for dropping by :)
