Leave him be. The absence of Chomper probably isn't a bad thing. He can't get up to too much trouble if he's left on his own.
Heh, that grin on his face though. Suggesting to him that him helping would be actually be a bad thing; always more effective to get them to want you to do what you want as opposed to fight over it.
