Over the years many of Irelands sons and daughter have left be hide these shores of green,
some left over their jobs, some left in the 70s and 80s over the non save place it had become,
this song is for them
most of those I was at school with are all overseas never again to see the mountain in the town of Newcastle sweep down to the sea never to walk bare foot on the 40 shades of green I am sure it breaks their hearts
Oh before I forget, back in 1995 at the 50 years of VE day I had been in Northern Ireland and the singer of this song was the main singer I had two video recorders with me Who I had a long talk with, there was a member of the Royal Family there as well we had a great day
