Description
Two years after the historic Europa mission, the six wealthiest nations of Earth purchased or constructed their own faster-than-light (FTL) engines and began establishing modest outposts across the solar system, with Mars being the favored destination.
The United States, however, fixed its ambitions on a grander prize: Alpha Centauri. They wasted no time and within 10 months assembled and launched a 6-crew mission, the Centauri 1, ferried by the proven FTL engine.
Meanwhile, in the seventh month of Centauri 1’s eight-month voyage to the star, China unveiled a bold counterstroke. They launched a rival mission to Alpha Centauri, using a revolutionary level-2 FTL drive -- 32 times faster than its predecessor. This new engine was destined to overtake the American mission, reaching the distant star with weeks to spare.

This is a good look at what it will be like if we humans ever develop FTL technology. Just like the current space-race for the moon and Mars. Fantastic job on this, my friend!

There no time to waste as a private group of well funded investors have just revealed, how their science team of engineers have just finished building a fully capable TFL-64 engine and will be ready for testing as soon as a team can be assembled.
Now this new FTL technology will be capable of flying at speeds 64 times faster. This should help win the race towards getting to Alpha Centauri ahead of anyone else including the Chinese. Don't you think it's time to get this new mission started Max? lol :-)

Unlikely. The level-2 FTL will be at Alpha in less than a week. You'd need to launch in 3 days ... unless yours is 64 x faster than level-2 FTL.
