He stood by the windows, staring down upon Earth. The door chimed.
"Come." He called out without even glancing back. The officer in standard black moved in and stood rigid before the desk.
"Report." The Director status with little interest.
"A dispatch from the Kissinger." The Officer offered.
The Director straightened, his expression becoming more alert. He turned. "Continue."
"A lead on missing assets. Proceeding into the outer Fringe regions. Assets appear to be stationary. Under cover operation is currently active."
"A promising lead." The Director nodded with approval as he moved slowly to stand behind the large desk. "Encode; locate and retrieve assets. Clean operation."
The Officer nodded curtly, then spun on his heel and left the room.
"Soon," The Director smiled with delight. "Very soon."
