Howdy,
There is not a lot about me to know, I am a wife of 46 years, mother of three and grandmother of five. I got my first computer in 99. That was when I began my journey to fill my time doing something creative. I began writing my thoughts in poetry and in 2007 published a book of my poetry titled "Stairway To My Dreams." I learned how to build a web page and learned how to design my own graphics and I learned HTML. My friend suggested I put up some of my graphic designs for other to use so I started my Graphics By Doris site. In my quest to find good graphics to use with my designs I found Renderosity where I bought beautiful backgrounds and tubes from the talented artist here. I then got Poser to learn how to make my own tubes. I didn’t start to learn Poser right away because I discovered I had cancer so I had surgery and radiation treatments. When my treatments were over I began to learn how to use Poser last summer [2009] with the help of my friend Pamela Delli Colli. I have came a long way in Poser but still have much to learn. I want to thank you all for viewing my images and for your comments on my work. May God bless you all with love, peace & happiness. You can find my book at Publish America:

Great start and first thing to learnt about Daz....don't use it the same way you did with Poser.
Depending on your system you may no longer need to do layers and such. I wish you every success with Daz and there are some awesome tutorials on youtube for Daz....don't waste you time on the Daz site you will probably get frustrated like I did when I first started using Daz in 2020 but I have found Daz in its current form way better than Poser and I used Poser from 2006 to 2016.
Good luck and I hope you continue with your Daz adventure :)
Thank you for your advice, I have found the tutorials on the Daz site to not be that much help to me. I have learned most of how to work in DS on my own but the trial & error method does take a lot of time. Yes, I have found DS to be very much different from Poser, I have worked in Poser since 2009. I resisted following the move from Poser to DS for a long time because of my age [81] but the powers that are Poser has not kept up advancing like DS had, it seems they still do the same ole same. The fact that Poser has not made any more children figures like they have at DS is the main reason I decided to learn DS, their children as so cute & realistic & they also make more & better male figures. I like my art to be realistic which includes kids, animals & male figures like in real life. I also like the DS cat & rabbit with fur like real life. I will check on those DS tutorial on you tube. Thank you.
Very nice, the placement of the three so very close is well done I wish you luck with your new toy
Thank you for your comment & thank you for being one of my best followers
Cool !
Thank you for your comment
You make so many valid points regarding Poser and Daz, and your never to old to take on new challenges in life, I'm 62 and still got heaps to learn :)
If I can help you with anything in Daz I will be more than happy to assist wherever I can, so ask away if you feel the need and like you, a lot of my Daz was learnt through trial and error but hey, at least I learnt...lol
Take care :)
Thank you I don't know if I will survive learning DS
Been there as well but extremely happy I stuck with it (Daz) I cannot do in Poser what I can do in Daz :)
I like Poser & have learned how to do what I want to in that program but I'm trying DAZ because they don't make the things for Poser that I want to use in my renders. They are not making new kids for poser while DAZ has advanced to making more realistic children. K4 are nice but they don't compare to the reality of the new Genesis kids. I have asked in the Poser forum if they would start making new kids & they were not interested, they told me to use K4. Thank you for your reply,
