One of the great advantages of posting work-in-progress images online is that you sometimes get suggestions from other people that improve your work. This is a good example, though the change is modest it makes a huge difference to the room. Someone suggested putting carpet on the floor rather than leaving the floorboards bare, so I tried it to see how it looks. That simple change is just a tiling texture map and a new shader, but it makes the entire room much more inviting. So thanks to those who suggested it! I have hardly been on Renderosity lately as I have been incredibly busy with non-3D life. I have built several cupboards and a walk-in wardrobe in a customer's house, rejoined the local writers' group so I can get some help to finish my novel, and been drawing every day in an effort to improve my pencil work. I am preparing for an exhibition so the drawing is very important and drawing every day is essential. I also write better when I do it every day so I am trying to spend some time each day on the novel. Add to that the construction projects and some paid work doing textures and 3D models, plus I need to have some sort of face-to-face social life... Yeah, busy is an understatement.
