Utterly love it, I love that you have to delve deeper to figure out what is going on in the image, love the simple use of colours and light. Subtle and simple yet strikingly beautiful work.

I like the second image better than the first. It's the details that grab your attention. It's well balanced. In the first image, the figure is lost in the shadows—too much empty space, which I feel is wasted. In my opinion, the camera should be closer to the subject but still obey the rule of thirds. The emptiness would still be present on the right, but the observer's will have a more defined focal point to observe.
Thanks for the thoughtful comments, much apprereciated. The reason I framed it unconventionally was to include the entire volume of space occupied by the piano, even its only visible in the mind's eye; the aim being to allude to the influence of what isn't seen.
