I would love to know how they were able to fight and what about those poor horse's to have to charge and carry a man with all that on him
Well, the war horses used in the Middle Ages were much more massive, heavier and more robust than today's breeds. They were bred specifically for the requirements of warfare. You also have to remember that people in the Middle Ages were much smaller than today, which is why they didn't have the same weight as we assume today! People were about 1.55 to 1.60 meters tall, and taller people were considered giants.
