Every spring, the Frost King leaves his throne in the human world and returns to the Fae Realm, where he waits and prepares for the next winter. When he departs, he leaves behind his Frost Bride, the beautiful human girl who was chosen by the fae many years ago to assist him in his work. As fall comes to a close, the Frost Bride anxiously waits to feel that first nip of cold in the air. She knows that her king will return with it, and she will watch as nature closes up and goes dormant, hiding from his cold, bitter magic. The Frost Bride does not hate her husband, in contrast she cares deeply for him, but his return brings her conflicting feelings.
