Description
Two "Burma Banshees" P-40s from the 80th Fighter Group escort a pair of Curtiss C-46 Commando cargo planes over the "Hump", a portion of the eastern Himalaya mountain range from India to China. The "Hump" was the most expeditious route for air delivery of much needed supplies to the Allied forces in China, c. 1943.

That's awesome- I never did get myself a Curtiss Commando model... that was an oversight of mine. Up close like this, I get the sense they are gathering for a way-point turn or similar and not wanting to lose visual.
