Description
Róisín Dubh ("Dark Rosaleen" or "Little Dark Rose") is an old lovesong that became one of Ireland's most famous political songs in the 16th century durung the 9 years war, with the person of Róisín being used as a metaphor for Irealnd itself.
It also also happens to be the title of one of my favourite rock albums, by the inimitable Thin Lizzy, that celebrates its 45th anniversary this year....

I've honestly never been a fan of Thin Lizzy but if their work inspired this I'm going to have to give them a closer listen. XD
