From one Facebook friend: "Russian bomb threats---32 of them. In the swing states. They stopped the voting. And the Republican National Committee blocked efforts to extend the voting. Republicans have blocked efforts to undo gerrymandering (creation of grotesquely shaped voting districts to divvy up opposition and render them powerless)" Another Facebook friend was working the polls and saw a lot of people who thought they were registered turned away because their name had been purged from the rolls.

the range of your work continues to be very wide and deep, and I'm always amazed at how your creativity is continually "on". This is a portrait in the style of photo-studio portraits. A very 'regal' pose in your model: She faces to our right, but she turned to us, to see us. And her expression would make many studio photographers very happy---she's inviting but also daring (there's a little "I dare you" in her gaze) and a slight amount of aloofness. WIth gentle eyes all the same.
The hat---on a tilt---suggests a certain playfulness---something studio-photographers love---and her outfit is dark with a white lace or silk collar to set it off. It's a finely tuned portrait. And then, the high rise background---which reminds me a little of the Chicago River in downtown Chicago---is perfect. And the lights in the building match the lights in her cap. A very professional piece, completed with a touch of sly humor, irony and 'dare' in your title. Terrific. (ps...if this is a comment on trump or politics, I unfortunately didn't 'see' it...I just see a really fine, almost tongue-in-cheek portrait, with terrific elements, choices, etc)
