She pressed the switch and responded.
"Yes?"
"Report for duty, Lieutenant." Came the brisk response through the speaker.
"Duty?" She scowled in confusion. "I just got off duty though."
"No such thing really." The voice chuckled. "Report to the bridge at once for a mission briefing."
"A mission?" She raised up with more alertness now. "An actual assignment?"
"Tailored for you in mind." He again laughed. "Get your butt up here on the double. The Captain is in a bit of a mood. So don't muddle around."
"On my way!" She switched the intercom off even as she was rising. "An Assignment!" She repeated to herself excitedly. "This could be fun for a change."
