"First initial reports were the Romulans testing a new vessel. We have been in communications with them via consultants. They insist it was not one of theirs. We then speculated a renegade commander. Recently, some data was located in a rather peculiar way. I won't go into those details at this time. But We're dealing with an imposter bent on initiating a war against the Federation." He pointed to the view screen which shifted to the image of a woman in a blue uniform. "Doctor Jennifer Massey. A highly decorated and reliable officer. She was reported to have been abducted along with two civilians by Romulans from some type of advanced Bird of Prey. An encrypted message was found which was apparently planted by her as a warning report." "In relation to whom?" Now Mitchell was locked in. "Details are still unclear. But we are dealing with what appears to be a race of robots, Androids, or something else entirely. But they weren't actually at the Starbase for much of our strategic data. They were looking for something else completely and unexpected. We're not sure how this ties together." "And they were searching for?" "Yes." The Admiral shook his head and sighed.
