Description
The lesser Purple Emperor (Apatura ilia), a tropical-looking Species common to the Mediterraneum, but reaches out to warmer Parts of middle and eastern Europe. The Wings change their color depending on the Angle of Sight. It seemed to love my Trousers ... Who´s laughing? ;)

Cool photos.
Thank You!
Wonderful captures!
Thanks for leaving a Word. I did only take the Photo, the "Model" was a Volunteer! :)
How beautiful!
Yes they are! Images cannot transport that! It might be flying in Your Area, too!?
Nice one
Thank You, MU!
AW! That's so awesome they loved your trousers. Great you've made a flutter friend :)
:D Well, I was suspicious that it was all flattery by that Flutter, because it went away without a word! :)
In my area I never saw them
They prefer damp and old-grown Forests; maybe its to dry in Your vincinity. But I am sure, You have other splendid Species!
Something to laugh: I just ried to find out about Butterflies in Your Region, thought me beeing smart and googled: "Farfalle siciliano"! Guess what I found? :D
Probably you found a kind of Italian pasta 🤣🤣 Anyway it's Sardinia, not Sicily
Yes, heaps and bowls of tasty Pata, but no flutterby! Ups, thats a bit embarrasing. I have tried Sardinia, too, same result! :( I keep on trying! :)
Typical of Google...🤣🤣🤣
Got it: https://butterfly-monitoring.net/sites/default/files/Pdf/Field%20Guides/Field-Guide_IT_Mediterranean-islands_FINAL%20v2.pdf Seems around 80 Percent are same as in Middle Europe, but You have some Species quite distinct: Strawberry Tree Butterfly, two Imperial Cloaks (Argynnis) instead of one here, a very special Checker-Board, ...
Very nice photos.
Not compared to Yours! (I am no Photograph, but dont tell it to the others!) ;)
Yes, some of those butterflies are in my area and sometimes I've been able to photograph them (they immediately fly away) :D
Well, the weak keep their Lifes by keeping out of reach! If You can convince them, that You are no Threat, they may be pose for You!? :)
Splendid photo and butterfly
Yes it is as You say, but sadly Photos cannot capture the full Colors! :) :(
A very nice capture indeed. I 'm all the more positively surprised as so many photographers have deserted Renderosity for other digital horizons, and photographers over here are scarce though precious to me.
But some stayed and are very busy! Its a Matter of Time, and the changing Waves of Trends, but there will be other Times! I took the Image, but the colorful "Model" counts for 99 Percent of the Photo and was a Volunteer, so all credits go to it! ;)
Wow, a nice one
Yes, they are tropical looking. It may fly in Your Vicinity, too!?
Oui, ils ont l'air tropical. Il se peut qu'il vole dans votre voisinage aussi !?
