Description
In great houses, scullery maids were the lowest-ranked and often the youngest of the female domestic servants and acted as assistants to a kitchen maid. They helped with cleaning the kitchen, preparing food, and cooking meals. Unfortunately they often caught the eye of the owner of the house.
