I am deeply shocked - Rest in power!
Around midday on Friday, the news spread that Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny had died at the age of 47. Navalny was in the IK-3 penal camp in the far north of Siberia, where he was serving a 19-year sentence for "extremism", among other things.
Navalny was a political prisoner and the best-known national and international opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Although official confirmation is still pending, the reactions, including in Luxembourg, were not long in coming.

One positive consequence of this tragedy will be greater support for Ukraine. Beyond that, Donald Trump's promise to encourage Russia to do what it wants may be interpreted correctly by some who considered it a harmless observation.
I don't like Uncle Donald, he lies too much for me, he behaves like a clown during breaks and not like a President of the USA, maybe you like toilet paper with his head, I don't! However, I like your comments even if you are one of his followers! 😁

Saddened, but not surprised. The man in the Kremlin has underhanded skulduggery down to a not-so-fine art.
The latest CNN News is that mourners for Mr. Navalny are being rounded up by police. Flowers left at a memorial have been taken away by those same police. Putin is even more emboldened.

Already more than 400 arrests for silent protests (what a shame for Russia), I feel so sorry for these people who have the courage to do this (the successor of Stalin, called the "Bloodhound" has now many empty prison camps in Siberia, because those who were imprisoned there, have to fight now in Ukraine and will die one way or another)!
Another sad loss to a mindless dictator. For every hero that falls, 10 more stand up to take his place. Wonderful tribute, Ute.
This is what living under a dictator is. We here in the USA need to keep this in mind this November.

People take to the streets to protest when other means of protest are gone. When they aren't allowed to protest, everything else has gone. Everything.
