Or, to be more precise, the first damselfly I took a picture of with my cheapo idiotphone using it's macro setting and was amazed by how good the result was.
It's a simple crops from the original 4160x3120 photo taken with the built-in camera of a Vivo Y91i (1816) idiotphone.
I spotted this beautiful damselfly sitting on a leaf. It would occasionally fly off for a few seconds and then return. It didn't seem concerned as I got closer.
"It's a pity I don't have a camera" I thought. But then I remembered that I was the owner of a Vivo Y91i idiotphone, which has the obligatory built-in camera.
And the phone wasn't too far away, back in my room, switched off, which is how I prefer it.
As I went to get it I thought "The damselfly will probably be gone by the time I get back. And the camera's not going to be any good anyway."
To my surprise the damselfly was still there on my return. It perched patiently on the leaf while I moved the idiotphone around within 6" of it. Occasionally it flew off to have a look at what I was doing, but always returned.
Focusing was simply a case of tapping the screen, but there was a slight breeze and the damselfly's perch kept swaying gently making it difficult to tap the right spot. My bad eyesight and big fingers probably didn't help. So I took several photos where something else was in focus but the damselfly was badly out of focus. I think I then got lucky.

I then wandered around for the rest of the day looking for other cooperative subjects... :)
