Wow this brought back memories for me as well. Looking over your room I had a lot of the same items like the Snoopy picture. I guess making the switch from analog to digital caused a lot of us to put down the pencil like myself. Great photo even for a lefty. :-)

a neighbor resembled you a lot. unfortunately he died young. personally I am not left or right handed. at college (OSU) my assignment out of 44 students was used as an example

when I was employed as a draftsman, all text had to be right on the letter.

A lot of fun can be had using old fashioned pencils! They are a lot of work if you want to draw well, but nothing beats stepping back and looking at a good drawing you have done. Glad you're still working on TNA!

I can appreciated the hand drawing and sketching, too. I used to do a lot of it myself, before we got "mice!" I was employed at GE Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati for 43 years, The first 22 years of that, I spent on a drawing board.

And, great news on your health checkup !!! Always good to get the new year off on the right foot (or, maybe "left" in your case) !!!

what a truly great capture this is, honestly.... something so nostalgic and intimate about it, esp. with it being b/w. really just cannot tell you the depth of goodness this has as words simply cannot completely express... i'm crazy over this though, if that tells you anything [soft chckle]

i AM curious though if you recall what you were drawing, and if by chance you still have it tucked away somewhere...

I don't have the actual drawing anymore, but I do have scanned images of the drawing and the finished version done with airbrush. I'll post them later.

One of my brothers is a lefty as well but as a child they forced him to writing with the right hand ... just to be sure no one will bother him for being a lefty. There are so many other interesting things besides the obvious ... the 'brick' with antenna and a number pad on it could have been one of the early mobile phones? and Snoopy fighting the Red Baron again grin Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by! That 'brick' was actually a police scanner. I used to listen to police / fire / EMT calls with it. It's gone by the wayside, sadly. I still have Snoopy around here somewhere. 😁

I remember Nuns at my junior school scolding me for writing left-handed! They said it was the work of the Devil! For goodness sake!!! That being said, I remember TD (Technical Drawings) lessons at school very well! Always had to have 2H pencils and keep them sharp! So glad about your health checkup Rod! Stay safe Kind Sir!

Just for fun, I did a reverse image search of the remote control in the foreground, and it's a GE VSQS0284 model for a VCR characteristic of the early 1980s. Sometimes it's easier to date photos with seemingly minor details like that.

Always fun to see the artist at work. As for youthful appearance and actual hair, I used to be stunningly thin, naturally blond, and now....
