Hi everyone:
This animation is a proof of concept test to see how well the Predator looks while riding a horse...I think he has taken to riding it pretty well, what do you think? I am still working on his riding style...will have to animate his legs to be a bit less stiff perhaps.
I used a simple a scene to set it up: it consists of an HDRI and a ground plane texture to match the background. The scene is lighted from the HDRI and an additional light to double as the sun and to provide the needed shadows.
I used the Hidewire horse together with a horse Trot from Anniemation. I will be doing a longer animation once I find a western town where this bad Predator can go against another cowboy for his first gun duel.

I saw the movie Cowboys and Aliens. Now you made the sequel Alien Cowboys. The animation is the good but this cow poke is straight up ugly. Great presentation and animation as always.
I am in total agreement with you...he is one ugly dude...we'll see how he does in his first gun duel against an alien! :-)
Wow ! Wow ! Wow ! This is...wow ! OK my vocabulary is poor but I'm sincere ! I guess the bad and the ugly are one person, the one riding this poor horse. WOW, this is fabulously done, the movement of the horse is very realistic and the result is perfect. I imagine this scene on a music by Ennio Morricone, I can’t wait to see the entire video… most excellent work !!

Fantastic, the horse trot looks spot on and great camera views. Very cool scenery and excellent soundtrack to compliment the animation. Looking forward to seeing more.
The character does look a little stiff riding, I think the legs are ok but might need a little chest, back and abdomen movement. Possibly watching videos of people riding horses may help.
thank's for the comment and great suggestion, I will see what I can do once I watch a few cowboy movies to better animate the Predator to look more natural while riding a horse. I will start by watching the Cowboy westerns by Clint Eastwood. Enjoy the day my friend! :-)

I really like your video and I'm impressed with its quality. I was stunned with the horse motion but I agree with you : the legs of your Bad/Predator rider should move a little bit more but it's a slight detail regarding the high quality of your artwork. I would be glad to see who will the Good and who will be the Ugly in your next video ;-)
