Perhaps I didn't get JohnnyM's warning soon enough. I posted several guards in front
of my rusty old runtime gates, but it looks like someone got there before I could stop
them and made off with an old B-26 bomber and a 1938 Cord! Oh dear! What shall I do now?

Very cool - Radar. Wonder how many times a Cord was this close to a B-26? My grandmother built B-26 in the Martin plant during the war....she could never have afforded a Cord :)
Ah, a classic B-26 AND a '38 Cord? Life is good!! 😁 I'm gonna need a bigger garage, though! LOL
This is great, Bill! I think I'll get back in my Cord, and go get a burger for lunch. They won't let me fly the 26, and besides it's rather challenging to get one of those through the drive-up! 😆
Ha ha ha, Rod! You really crack me up! Yeah, I can see the difficulties trying to place a burger order with a B-26. Unless you could use your intercom and have them fire up your order from a cannon! Very cool B-26, great color and detail. Beautiful shiny gold 38 cord looks fabulous. No crowd this time I see.
There is the skyhook extraction method for getting your burger off the ground. The history of this type of retrieval system can be traced back to the last few years of World War II. The British began using an extraction method that was based on a mail retrieval system invented during the 1920s and used by an early airline company called All American Aviation (which would become US Airways). This particular system used a line between two poles that would be snagged by an approaching airplane. The line was connected to a mail sack, or in this case a lunch sack which would then be winched into the plane.

@ OmniFX - I've seen videos of that extraction system - I've even seen one like that used to extract humans and reel them into the aircraft. That would be one hellofa ride!
Almost seems like it would rip you apart! For sure a trip somewhere! LOL! I guess if they could slow the airplane down enough, but what if it was an F-16? Oooooooppppppppsssssss!

Takes me right back to when these Glorious Cords were an everyday runaround. I still marvel at the look of the gigantic exhaust and how streamlined the front of the classic Cord looked. Fine posting Bill!

I was able to walk around inside of a couple at an air show. the walkway for the bomb area is so narrow
