I have no taste for autumn. It is a prelude to winter, promising freezing temperatures, delayed sunrises, and misery. I will abolish winter someday. In the meantime, I'll start with autumn.

Before, I didn't like winter, because I associated it with the off season. Since then I have revised my judgment, winter is the season where nature prepares the rebirth of spring, where the buds grow in secret. I like the idea that in winter, nature is pregnant with the promises of what it will give in the new year, while men retreat into the warmth, near their fireplace. Autumn is the season of fruit, and when the leaves die, but it is a death in such flamboyance.
