Description
Sort of a response to Radar's posting of a purple SL. While not as artistic as Radar's, it's as close as I can get in a pinch. I ordered this car new on July 3, 1985 when still a kid. Now we're both old.
She's the only new car I've ever purchased, and she's been a reliable alternate vehicle since delivery in December 1985, suffering rain, snow, and everything else with little complaint. The picture was taken on a whim last spring at a show, so it's hardly art. She passed 39,000 miles on the way there...

Fantastic work!
Thanks starship!
She is a real beauty! You have treated her very nicely over the years! And to have only 39,000 miles give or take, yes, I would say here is a well loved vehicle! Many fine praises and accolades from me to you for looking after her so well!!!!!
Thanks Radar!
I'm not great fan of muscle cars but I must say this one rocks !
Thanks gaius - the 560 was actually quite powerful for its day, but still rather a cruiser.
Wonderful photography and fantastic carππββοΈ
Thanks Saby - was a quick shot of an old friend. Florida light makes a good backdrop :)
Beautiful photo of a wonderful automobile!
Thanks Blue - she's held up well, though i suppose she was built for it :)
great capture and dedi.
Thanks eekdog!
Stunning #@%!3(it ends in 'ing'..) magic!!!
Thanks mif!
Cool John, love this new stuff (image)!
Thanks Ute!
She is a beauty, and a gem at that mileage!
Thanks blu - an old trooper that never complains
Well, automobiles aren't really my "thing" but I have to say it's a pretty car in bright "arrest me" read! XD Hard to believe it has only 39,000 miles on it. The automobile that i drive currently has 41,000 and some, is about 4 years old and I thought that I wasn't putting many miles on it! ;-)
Molly
Thanks Molly - this old girl was a family backup and fun-mobile for years and then sort of languished when the restored cars were completed. Never intended to show - the Labrador rode in back. It's very safe for its size - weighing nearly two tons, and Signal Red is quite visible. Mercedes used that version back to the thirties...
Now she's getting her due :).
