Ute, I'm at 1 hour in you wonderful gallery, and I must sign off to rest. I'm sorry, because there's so much to comment on. Your very latest images---incl some amazing street scenes ("Ready for Exodus" and "The Red Street" are marvelous...the Exodus pic is amazing: That tall building back there almost looks like a gigantic locomotive!)------your very latests are worth a whole session by themselves. But I have to rest now, so let me end tonight with this:
I love this series. Great kid and bird (duck)---both wear glasses, both have cartoonish joy, I love the light on both of them---it's soft and very much like CG animation. And in all the variations, the child's face seems to glow from within. (Great hair in each one too.)
The house behind: You've got a whole array of creatures on it: Birds, a great little wan-eyed bird in number 2, little towers, chimneys, a bird on the roof tiles, etc. And misty skies behind.
Your images with kids are always magical. In the last image, the boy almost looks yearning (as kids are), wanting something out in the distance. Beautiful faces here. I've also noticed that, in your smaller pieces, you adjust your vision to the size: I don't recall a single image in your gallery where you worked 'too big' or 'too small': You always suit the image to the size: These 5 images are perfectly suited for their dimensions---they're deep but intimate. Kudos, Ute. You never cease to amaze me. Your work is beautiful as ever. Take care and I wish you health and light!
