After worrying & watching Stella go down hill, we have thankfully finally found out why, she has something called Addisons.
Hypoadrenocorticism is an uncommon disease in dogs, and it is caused by a deficiency of essential hormones that are made by the adrenal glands. Also known as Addison's disease, the clinical signs may appear as vague signs of illness that come and go.
I watched her go from 32kg to 24kg in 3 months. Very hard watching her getting thinner & more lethargic every day. Thankfully Phillip (vet) was amazing & we now have her on her medication. She started them on Sunday & is now eating well, I am feeding her little & often so not to overload her tummy too soon. The pills she is on will be gradually decreased until she is on a manage dose.

Wonderful news and I'm sure it must take a big weight off you. Dogs are not humans (obviously), but they do get human diseases. Hope all's well with you and you are surviving this insane summer (politically and environmentally).

Oh, dear! I missed this lovely picture! I'm so glad Stella has stabilised. You must have been really concerned about her. So glad you have a dependable vet.
With our first Spaniel, the vet we used turned out to be less than ideal. We are now with a new vet for "new" Zackie. I wish her a speedy recovery and her "Mother" too!
