Hmm. Not sure what to make of this one; so many angler's fishing lines with nasty little hooks. She is armed to cut herself loose but looks to have been injured... puzzling to me. =\

I wanted to pay tribute to women whose extraordinary bodies are often the subject of ridicule and injury. I wanted her beautiful and proud while not hiding her wounds. The theme of the bikini and the sea led me to think quite quickly of the theme of the whale. A word with which some of these bodies are badly stigmatized. So here is my version of Moby Dick, all in white, not rising from the waves, but in an infinite and improbable equilibrium above them. Her self-esteem or the respect that others owe her is a constantly corrected imbalance. the gaze of fishermen is that aggressive gaze that goes from the hook that scratches to the harpoon that kills, for now Moby is defending herself like a circus acrobat putting on a show, but until when will she be able to she hold? In Moby Dick, the whale wins its fight.
