I see doves where I am a lot, but they can be hard to capture sometimes as they are very skittish! They do seem like very affectionate birds

If I'm remembering correctly.... They are the reason for the cliche "Lovey Dovey".
Apparently as part of a bonding ritual, a pair will preen each other affectionately. I think I actually have a video of it though a bit wobbly as hand hold my camera is hard for me for long lengths of time. I'll have to find it and post it here sometime :)
From their behaviour I can totally see it spawning the lovely dovey :)
