The easiest and best quality can be achieved with Gimp/Photoshop with manual painted water drips, that's by far much easier.
I used the other way, the one that gives lots of head-aches, using the procedural approach; fine tuning is a PIA, lighting and render settings as well, render engine documentation is quite basic - to only use an euphemism - and that needs to be improved, including variable types, inputs and outputs types and eventually, more nodes, including logical functions would help for sure.
