But is it discovery? Bearing weapons appear more like an act of invasion than exploration, even if it's a precautionary measure. Either way, there is hostile intent in the very way the character is portrayed.
From the 3 renders, I consider the first one the best. There is more dynamic action going on with the waves, enhanced by the strong menacing colors of the sea, the rocky background, and the stormy skies above. Although the lighting on the character is strong, accenting the intense tones of the costume, it quite doesn't match the intensity of the scene. I would say less lighting than more. Otherwise, the composition is very good.
