Description
Somehow, I was not surprised to meet Chull. She is one of the small folk that inhabit the Forest of Darkglass. She watched shyly as I made a picture of her to share here. Then she disappeared.
Molly's art notes: The figure, Chull, is set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.1029. I was delighted to find that the shadow catcher function on the ground works with Superfly Cycles 2. The background is an AI creation by Darkglass, a very fine artist of my acquaintance here at Renderosity. I am grateful for the gift of the background and the challenge to find a character and make a picture using it. Getting the sharpness of the rendering to work with the sharpness of the image wasn't too hard as there is a very sharp DoF point in the background where I tried to place Chull. The shadow fell pretty naturally and blended pretty well, too ( I DID darken it slightly with Photoshop).
The Chull character and her clothing are content by Nursoda and can be found at Renderosity. The female body morph I used is a freebie by bwldrd found here amongst the freebies

Thanks, DG. The scene was challenging in terms of lighting as it is kind of "back lit". Would you believe I was initially thinking of a little robot? I think my ultimate choice of Chull as a character was more sensible. XD

Thank you! I don't usually do the "character on background" thing, preferring to accomplish as much of a scene as possible in the rendering engine; but the lovely background was an AI creation that was gifted to me by Darkglass and drove the whole creative process. In a sense, he deserves more credit than I for how the picture finally came out. ;-)

This is really a beautifully done image, unfortunately I can't comment on all your recent artwork because it takes too much of my strength and I hope I can recover it at least partially after my Rhea cure. Just for your information, for an animation it takes me between 1-2 days to get it so that I can upload it, but then I have to rest again for a whole day.

Chull was the absolute better choice - and adorable little thing by any measure. Working the light must have been a chore indeed, but worth the effort as it highlights the character without spotlighting her or 'harshening' her features. A nice scene!
