Brilliant photo! What interesting architecture. I don't think I've ever seen a roof like that before on any sort of building. I reckon the view from above would be very cool! Lovely photo :)
Yes, the Cathedral was built over some 500 years, starting way back in the Bronze Age... just thinking of it makes the head spin... A magnificent "piece" of masonry and architecture, testimony of the imagination, effort and craftsmanship of so many people during a time of pain and strife, with no power tools, no electricity anyway...
