Just a term I remembered from somewhere and thought I'd use it here. Don't recall exactly which Chevies they referred to, probably not this particular year, but I liked the feel of it in the title! Many thanks for your comment, my friend! I greatly appreciate it and your question.
The "Heavy Chevy" was a special package on a base model 1971-1972 Chevelle Sport Coupe. They were a no-frills car with special striping and other appearance items, including a blacked-out grille. They had the "domed" hood, and upgraded suspension. Special Side stripes and a rubber floor mat, no carpet. You could get it with any engine from 307-402. The 454 was only available in the SS.
