(above: a Himalyan antelope resting in the local zoo---about 12 blocks from home) I apologize for being absent so many days: It's been most of July. I had another flu some weeks back...it started out minor, but it grew all of a sudden, and just knocked me out. W/ a bunch of chronic pains, it was time for me to take a total rest. I'm getting better, but with the heat and all, I turned to hibernation. (Like that antelope in the picture.) Whoa, did I get tired... (it wasn't covid btw, so no worries there...) I've seen every one of your uploads, every one; and I've wanted to jump in and get all excited (because I've felt it), but not yet. Just know I've seen them and wanted to share, but I just couldn't get the words 'on paper' this time... But I wanted to say I've missed you all, and hope you're all well, and dealing with all that life is dealing out now (which I know, for a bunch of you, is a lot). So all the best to you, stay healthy, and I hope to be back before the end of August. Blessings to all of you, and lots of healing and light! Mark (I've decided to call this antelope "gesualdo": I have no idea why---I just like the name "gesualdo"...) ------------------

So sorry you haven't been feeling well. I hope you're on the other side of the tough stuff and on the mend. Rest, take care, comments are not as necessary as your health.

This antelope is handsome and the name, Gesualdo is fitting. He looks like he's contemplating something very secret and unique, just like his namesake (Carlo) did.

The antelope looks a bit tired, indeed. Great news you are doing much better. Wonderful capture.

He's a beauty, I haven't seen a Himalayan Antelope before, I thought it was a buffalo. Beautiful picture.

Hope you get well soon and the heat settles down.

Being sick is no fun, worry only about resting and getting better. I heard a garlic, onion, and radish poultice can cure the flu, or cause a horrible rash and should never be applied to a human, I can't remember which it is. Take care.

My friend I hope you get over that nasty flu. Few years ago before the virus the flu was a concern for us and how many it killed. Seems they put that on the back burner. And now the monkey pox! Geez and WTF is happening?

Love your photo this beast is sure enjoying a nap. Been feeling fatigued alot myself over the last few days.

Take care and get more rest, lots of water my friend. ❤❤😁👍

I'm glad you are feeling better. Keep taking care of yourself and don't push too soon. We need you too much to risk another relapse. Your are missed and loved, Mark!

Get back in shape soon, Mark. (Maybe the antelope is named so in honor of Giovanni Verga's "Mastro don Gesualdo, a Great of Italian literature? it would be nice to find out.)

I am very glad for you in that it was not Covid. I knew a doctor that recently died from Covid

goldie 10:42PM | Fri, 07 October 2022

Missed you, Mark...Glad to hear that you're on the mend and it wasn't the Covid beast that struck you--folks have been so cavalier about Covid--each week nearly 3,000 people are still dying from it here in the U.S. Love your capture of that ol' beastie--little siesta time it seems :)
