Description
After Georgia O'Keefe.
I wanted to capture the threadbare theme of the pin-up. This time, these women are taking their ascent into their own hands to escape, with more or less success, from the male gaze. The characterization of each is to be placed in relation to the image of the mountain borrowed from the history of art. This mountain, which is difficult to reach, at least by sight, is that of the place that men have granted themselves. At the turn of these 10 images, I give the female characters different postures, between insurance and endangerment, thus testifying that their reconquest of spaces is still today, a risk-taking.

Your climber resembles Georgia O'Keefe herself. I love the way the dress has to stretch to permit her to cling to the pin up pegs. Another joy to view! Thank you!

You are right dear Molly, I wanted to represent Georgia O'Keeffe stepping back from her canvas. I found it interesting that the folds of her dress evoke the organic folds of the landscape.

Il y a quelques années aux USA, nous n'avons pas eu le temps de visiter le musée dédié à son oeuvre à Santa Fe. Nous avions privilégié le musée dédié à la culture amérindienne. C'est le grand problème de nos voyages : le manque de TEMPS.
