Having spotted this pair the other day I went back today with a more suitable lens the tree they are in is in the middle of a small lake mostly surrounded by overhanging trees this was the best vantage point i could find hand holding a 600mm lens in such an awkward position was somewhat challenging this was probably the best shot i could get Thanks for taking time to take a look

Nice pic. Wildlife photography is always challenging if you are there actually behind the camera. I couldn't even get a decent photo of my cat, unless he was sleeping.

Drones and remote automated camera setups have removed from the equation the need for patience and split second decisions (and a bit of luck), but you still have to know where to look.
